The real price comes from the technician’s quotation, priced from the photos and details you send on LINE rather than from a visit first. You confirm that price, and only then is the visit arranged.
A visit costs 500 baht when the technician comes from your own province and 2,000 baht from another one. It is counted inside the quote’s single total rather than billed separately, and it is not refunded if you look and decide against the repair.
- Unit size (BTU) and type — a wall-mounted unit is the cheapest to service; ceiling-cassette and ducted units cost more because the technician has to open a ceiling panel to reach them
- Mounting height and how hard the install point is to reach — a unit over a stairwell or high on an exterior wall needs more rigging time than one at head height
- The unit's age and refrigerant type — an older R22 unit needs different gas and sometimes parts that are no longer stocked, which pushes a repair toward the top of the range regardless of brand
- Length of new refrigerant piping that has to be run for an installation or relocation

How to spend less
- Clean on a schedule (once or twice a year) — it's cheaper than the compressor repair a neglected, iced-up unit eventually needs
- Send a photo or short video of the fault over LINE before the technician comes out — it lets them bring the right part on the first visit instead of a second paid call-out

The number here is the same market reference range regardless of who's asking — it isn't a rate card that changes by nationality. The real protection against being quoted high isn't taking that on faith, though — it's that the price is put in writing over LINE, in your own language, before the technician starts, so you can hold it up against the range on this page and question anything that doesn't fit.
My landlord supplied the AC unit — is a repair on me or on them?
In most Thai rental agreements, a fault from normal ageing of landlord-supplied equipment falls to the landlord, while damage from how the unit was used falls to the tenant. Getting a technician to diagnose the cause first doesn't decide who pays — it tells you what actually broke, which you can then take to your landlord.
Why is the cleaning price a range instead of one number?
A wall-mounted unit at head height is a different job from a ceiling-cassette unit that needs a ladder and a panel removed. The range mostly reflects how hard the unit is to physically reach, not how thorough the clean is — ask which end of the range your unit sits at before the technician arrives, not after.
Does the brand of my unit change the price?
Less than its age does. What actually moves the price is whether the refrigerant and parts are still in normal supply — an old R22 unit costs more to service than a recent unit of the same brand running R32, because the older gas itself is harder to source, not because one brand name is pricier than another.
