The real price comes from the technician’s quotation. Usually it is priced from the photos and details you send on LINE, with no visit first; for some jobs the technician needs to see the site first and then sends the quote. Either way you confirm the price, and only then does the work start.
A visit costs 500 baht when the technician comes from your own province and 2,000 baht from another one. It is counted inside the quote’s single total rather than billed separately, and it is not refunded if you look and decide against the repair.
If a job needs the technician to see the site before a quote can be given, and that look ends with you deciding against the work, whether the visit is charged depends on the job; you are told before the visit.
The quoted total covers every item you confirmed, but not replacement parts: whether any are needed can only be established on site, and if they are, they are charged on top of the total.
What changes the price
- Brand and age of the appliance — an older or discontinued model is harder to find parts for and usually costs more, regardless of how "premium" the brand originally was
- How complex the fault is — a failed electronic control board is harder and more expensive to fix than a mechanical part like a belt or a motor
- Whether the part has to be imported or waited on — something already in stock gets fixed the same visit; something ordered from abroad adds both cost and time
- The price shown on this page is labour; replacement parts are not in the quoted total and are charged on top if the job turns out to need them; the visit fee is counted inside the total at the same-province or cross-province rate
How to spend less
- Describe the model and the exact symptom as precisely as you can up front (what noise, at what point in the cycle, does it drain or not) — that description is what the price is made from, and it lets the technician bring the part they expect to need instead of coming back
- If an appliance has more than one thing wrong with it, report all of it in one job — one trip out instead of several on separate days
- Before committing to a repair, ask the technician to weigh the repair cost against a replacement, especially on an appliance that's been in service for many years

Am I being charged a foreigner price for this?
The ranges above are the same market reference regardless of who's asking. What actually protects you from an inflated number isn't trust — it's that the diagnostic fee and the repair price are both stated over LINE, in writing, before work starts, so you can compare them against this page yourself.
If the technician diagnoses the fault and I decide not to go ahead, do I still pay?
Yes, the diagnostic call-out is charged regardless — that's what pays for the technician's time and travel. If you go ahead with the repair, that fee is deducted from the repair price rather than charged on top of it.
Is the foreign-brand appliance I brought from home going to cost more to fix than a local one?
Usually not because it's foreign — it's because the part isn't sold in Thailand. A common local brand's washing machine belt is on the shelf; an imported model's control board might need to be ordered, which is what actually adds the cost and the wait, not the brand name on its own.
Why does a fridge repair sometimes cost more than a washing machine repair?
It depends on the mechanism and the fault, not the appliance type as a rule. A failed cooling system in a fridge is more complex to repair than a broken drum belt or safety-lid switch in a washing machine, so the price follows what's actually broken.
Can you repair an appliance that isn't a mainstream brand here?
Yes — but if it's a model with hard-to-find parts, the technician will tell you the likely wait and a higher price range before you agree to the repair, not after.
