The real price comes from the technician’s quotation. Usually it is priced from the photos and details you send on LINE, with no visit first; for some jobs the technician needs to see the site first and then sends the quote. Either way you confirm the price, and only then does the work start.
A visit costs 500 baht when the technician comes from your own province and 2,000 baht from another one. It is counted inside the quote’s single total rather than billed separately, and it is not refunded if you look and decide against the repair.
If a job needs the technician to see the site before a quote can be given, and that look ends with you deciding against the work, whether the visit is charged depends on the job; you are told before the visit.
The quoted total covers every item you confirmed, but not replacement parts: whether any are needed can only be established on site, and if they are, they are charged on top of the total.
What changes the price
- Where the pipe that needs work actually sits — pipework running exposed outside a wall is faster and cheaper to fix than pipe buried inside a wall or under the floor
- Whether tile or concrete has to be cut open to reach the pipe and made good again afterward — this adds cost on top of a job that's directly accessible
- The type of fixture being replaced — a wall-hung fixture that needs a concealed steel frame in the wall is more complex and costs more than a standard floor-mounted one
- Whether a hidden problem turns up under the floor or in the wall that wasn't visible at the first look — anything found mid-job is quoted before it's actioned, which is why the final price can sit above the initial estimate
How to spend less
- Don't leave a small leak for long — water that keeps seeping can damage the floor or wall around it, making the eventual repair cost more than fixing it at the first sign
- If several fixtures in the same property need replacing, book them together rather than calling a plumber out for each on a separate day
